About NotepadX

NotepadX is a free text editor built to bring a serious, professional editing experience to every platform — macOS, Windows, and Linux — from a single codebase, with Android on the way.

It was created for people who keep a plain-text file open all day: developers reading logs, writers drafting in Markdown, and anyone who wants a fast editor that never loses their work. The app is built with Tauri 2, React, and CodeMirror 6 for native speed on every platform.

What we believe

Your text belongs to you. NotepadX has no account requirement, no telemetry, and no lock-in. Files stay on your device, local history is stored locally, and if you use the optional AI features, your API key stays on your device and is sent only to the provider you choose. Cross-device sync runs through a cloud folder you already control, not our servers — because we do not run any.
